Clean customer data
Use this when you already have a customer or contact file and you need to see blank fields, repeated keys, and addresses that do not look like email. NovaToolora does not look up new customers.
Start with the file you are allowed to use
You are responsible for having the right to clean the file and for deciding what the cleaned file is used for. The contact-list cleaner is a preset for that review. It is not a source of leads.
Check fields before you delete rows
Choose the email column and preview the syntax flags. A flag means the text does not look like an email address. It does not mean the mailbox is missing, full, or real. Empty emails are not called invalid; they are blank. Blank keys stay as separate rows when that option is on, so unrelated people with no email are not merged.
Use missing values when a column such as company must be filled in. Zero and false remain values. N/A is removed only if you turn that option on. Nothing is written into an empty cell.

The second Northwind row can be removed as a duplicate email. Contoso stays because the email is blank. Fabrikam is flagged and stays until you choose to remove invalid syntax. Download the summary if you want the counts without copying those addresses into a second file.
